Job Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to provide individual peer
support sessions and facilitate group discussions. This part-time role requires a minimum
of 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Offer one-on-one peer support to individuals in recovery.
- Facilitate peer-led support groups and wellness workshops.
- Encourage and assist clients in developing coping skills and self-advocacy.
- Document client progress in compliance with organizational standards.
- Collaborate with clinicians and community resources for client support.
- Participate in training and supervision to enhance peer support skills.
Qualifications
- Lived experience with mental health recovery or substance use recovery.
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (or eligible for certification in Kansas).
- Strong interpersonal and active listening skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Familiarity with recovery-oriented approaches and wellness planning.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
